Long Distance Paths

The MHDFS occassionally walk long distance paths. These are walked in stages; usually around 10 miles per stage.

Examples are:

Offas Dyke Path

Wye Valley Walk

The Diamond Way

The Severn Way

The Cotswold Way

The Three Choirs Way

The Worcestershire Way

The Herefordshire Trail

Another trek, though not a 'trail' as such, earns the title of 'long distance' as it is a series of walks covering in total around 300 miles. To find out more go to:

Walks and Trips in the UK

Several members are happy to organise trips both here in the UK and abroad (see seperate link) for the benefit of all other Society Members. Some trips attract enough people to warrant organising a coach to travel to the area, others are organised around the basis of shared cars.

Trips in the last 5 to 6 years have seen groups travelling to:

Looe, Cornwall

Cober Hill, Yorkshire

Church Stretton, Shropshire

Bakewell, Derbyshire

Grange over Sands, Cumbria (twice)

Newport, Pembrokeshire

North Yorkshire

Buxton, Peak District, Derbyshire

Dartmoor, Devon

Llanfyllin, Powys

Criccieth, Snowdonia

Isle of Wight

Llandybie

Aberystwyth

and many more to be added as pictures and stories come to light.

Clicking on some of the places listed above will take you to another page showing pictures and maybe information of the area gathered on walks taken at the time.
